Pool Time Is Quality Family Time

Tired of constantly having to tell your kids not to bring their cell phones to the dinner table; to put the phone down so they can get started on their homework; or to simply look away from their phone and up at you while you are speaking to them? Yep, we all are.

There are tons of great activities that can help you in your feeble (maybe that’s just me) attempts to get those to whom you gave life to put their phones down and actually participate in life; but none is better than pool time because guess what. You can’t bring your cell phone in the pool, so look out kiddies. It’s family time!

Once your kids remember that there is a world out there filled with better things than incessant texting and constant connection, they will get some great exercise, start enjoying themselves and may even smile!

That goes for you and your spouse too. We all need to be reminded at times that there is more to life than cell phones and computer screens. There are laughs that need to be had; margaritas with little umbrellas that beg to be sipped; lounge chairs that tempt; and refreshing, cool water that is calling your name. So, drag your face up from your cell phone to put your lips on your glass and your face in the sun!

Okay, let’s back-up. What are the rules? No swimming just after eating; no peeing in the pool and absolutely no cell phones in the pool. Then go right ahead and dive into family time. If you can’t remember what it’s like, trust me, it’s a good thing…mostly.
