New Smyrna Beach is a quaint beachside town with historic charm, heaps of beachside fun, and a host
of interesting, enjoyable and varied events that take place throughout the year…
So many annual New Smyrna Beach events have already been enjoyed this year. Take the Festival of the
Arts in January – a weekend full of fabulous art displays by over 230 talented artists, live music, a
student art exhibit, a creative education tent, food court and more!

The Chowder Festival, with over 30
of the area’s best chowder chefs filling both sides of Flagler Avenue for a culinary cook-off of
extraordinary proportions, also takes place early every year. Then there is a Mardi Gras parade and
party without compare, and the NSB Art Fiesta with more than 250 artisans and crafters, food vendors
and live entertainers.

New Smyrna Beach Blues Festival, a delightful four-day event where soulful
sounds flow through the streets, is held in May. The Seaside Fiesta takes place beachside on Flagler
Avenue in June, and features live entertainment, arts and crafts booths, great food and games.
Don’t worry, you haven’t missed it all. There are plenty of terrific events left to enjoy this year. Taste
great seafood from Volusia’s best restaurants, and enjoy live entertainment at New Smyrna Beach’s
Annual Shrimp and Seafood Festival in August.

There will also be a “Best on the Beach” contest in which
prizes are awarded in shrimp, shellfish, fish and specialty seafood categories. And New Smyrna Beach
wouldn’t be without magnificent monthly happenings, including the Wine Walk – a progressive wine
tasting event in which participants can explore over 100 wines within local pubs, restaurants and
galleries; and classic car shows that absolutely any motor enthusiast would enjoy.

The holidays are also filled with cheer. Check out the Turkey Run around Thanksgiving. It is America’s
largest classic car show! Then there are Christmas parades by land and sea, and a spectacular fireworks
display for New Year’s Eve.
