New Smyrna Beach is charming, beachy, historic and full of art and culture; but, with numerous varied events held throughout the year, it is also a whole lot of fun! There are chili, grilled cheese and cookie cook-offs and bake-offs, street fairs bursting with street vendors, live music and family fun and if you like walking, there are art walks, wine walks and craft beer walks.
There are also a ton of events you can count on for enjoyment every year. Here are just some examples of upcoming New Smyrna Beach annual festivals and celebrations:
A three-day soulful celebration full of talented jazz musicians, food and fun since 2001, the New Smyrna Beach Jazz Fest is super popular and will be taking place in May this year.
Revered by seafood lovers near and far, the New Smyrna Beach Shrimp and Seafood Festival will be held on Flagler Avenue this August. It’s a deliciously spectacular event in which the area’s most acclaimed chefs compete for “Best on the Beach” awards amidst a celebratory atmosphere full of upbeat music and seafood-inspired activities.
Then, in October, you may want to engage in an affair. Not that kind! The New Smyrna Beach Art Affair includes dinner, art walks, plein air painting and more; and it will take place in conjunction with the Plein Air Paint Out which has an “Art in Nature’s Embrace” 2024 theme. Over the course of several beautiful October days, artists from across the country will be creating artistic masterpieces throughout New Smyrna Beach and displaying them at each day’s end.
Holiday revelry is also a big part of New Smyrna’s allure, starting with the New Smyrnaween parade and costume contest and followed up with Christmas events such as the Annual New Smyrna Beach Tree Lighting Ceremony and a spectacular New Year’s fireworks extravaganza!
